Disclaimer
This service is only available to patients who have registered with us. Video Consult uses a secure method of communication as information is encrypted when you login to your account,
Please remember this is a pilot and there may well be teething problems. We will mould the service based on user feedback and our experience as Clinicians. We hope this is a valuable service we can develop over time.
Appointment Slots: Each appointment lasts 10 minutes. Appointments are available at selected times and we are piloting it during our extended access from 6:30pm to 8pm
Medical Emergencies: If you have a medical emergency you should NOT use this service and instead you should call the surgery in the normal way or the out-of-hours services when the service is closed or visit your local Accident and Emergency Department.
Security: Video Consult is a secure way of communicating. Information is encrypted as you login and Video Consult uses digital certificates to ensure that you are in conversation with whom you think you are. You should not need to apply any special firewall rules in order for Video Consult to function. All NHS surgeries are on a secure N3 link. This does mean that we have little control over own internet speeds. If we are unable to have a satisfactory consultation due to internet issues on our side, we may ask you to attend in person.
Your Video Consult connection: You will need to make sure that you are in an area where your internet connection is not likely to be interrupted. This is especially important if you intend to use your mobile telephone for your Video consultation.
Certain mobile devices only have a rear facing camera and would need to be turned around for our doctors to view you during your consultation.
Using this service in a private setting: Our doctors may need to ask sensitive medical questions as part of your Video consultation. Please ensure you are in a quiet, confidential place at your chosen time, free from interruptions. We will also not consult any Video Consultation whilst you are driving for your Safety. If you contact us whilst driving we will advise you to contact the practice to reschedule your video consult appointment.
